Mediterranean flour moth / Ephestia kuehniella

 It is a common pest of cereal grains, especially flour. This moth is found all over the world. It prefers warm temperatures for faster development, but it can withstand a wide range of temperatures.

 Mediterranean flour moth is often found in warm places with stored grain products, such as mills and bakeries, where it can multiply year round. 

Mediterranean flour moth lives in the storage of grain foods. They are primarily found in flour, but they can be found in a variety of grains. Moths are one of the main types of pests in mills and can also be found in bakeries and warehouses. Caterpillars feed on coarse meal, whole grains and grain residues. 

 Mediterranean flour moth females usually lay their eggs the second night after hatching. This is because it takes several hours to proceed for fertilization. Females lay between 116 and 678 eggs. 

 Up to ten generations develop per year, the minimum duration of one generation is 45 days.
